Jim Burns, an ex Cantabs club player and friend

October 26, 2011

It is with a heavy heart that I have to inform you all that in the early hours of Sunday morning (16th October) Jim Burns was involved in an accident and sadly passed away.

Jim had been a player at Cantabs for many years and will be sadly missed by all who knew and played with him over the years.

Our thoughts and prayers at this most difficult of times are with Jim's family.

There is a plan to hold a game to celebrate his life on Dec 17th at Ely RUFC, it will feature a Cantabs side of players who knew or played with Jim.

Further details will be announced here shortly, but if you'd like to play or to attend please advise John Edmonds on johned40@hotmail.com . This will help us and Ely plan the event.

With sincere sympathy,

Cantabs RUFC

Jim's funeral will be Friday 28th Oct, 12 noon at Cambridge Crematorium followed by refreshments at Ely Golf Club.
